Autumn Art Fair
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made changes to our programs and events, as well as the flow of the building. Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance, guests must sign-in at the front desk, everyone (staff and guests) must wear a mask correctly, and maintain six foot social distancing.
Welcome to our virtual Autumn Art Fair!
The artists featured below create work in a variety of mediums – perfect for holiday gifts for your friends, family, and colleagues. Now, more than ever, it’s increasingly important to support our artists and shop local. All artists have participated in previous Autumn Art Fairs at the Garfield Park Arts Center, and we’re excited to be able to highlight them virtually so that you can shop safely from your home. Click on the name of the artist or scroll down to learn more about the artist and see examples of their artwork. To see more of their artwork, shop, and purchase pieces, click on the link to their online store or contact them and purchase directly from the artist. For me, it is all about observation and where we choose to focus our attention.
It is an opportunity to slow down enough to become fully aware of the beauty that surrounds us every day with a quiet moment; a deep breath. Perhaps a walk in the woods on a crisp autumn day, or the hush of dawn as the sun rises, chasing patterns through the trees.
Even the mesmerizing intricacies of lichen as it blooms in the textured bark of an ancient oak become a meditation; a moment of connection with the beauty that surrounds us when we shift our focus to the stillness, to the tranquility, to the enduring grace. Translating these observations into wearable art has grown beyond a profession; it is now a way of life. Using simple shapes as a canvas and precious metal as a medium, surface textures and color become the language with which to share these moments where time seems to stand still and awareness expands, inviting calm and quietude.
Nearly 20 years ago I was introduced to needle felting in Anchorage, Alaska. I continue to use long needles and a variety of wool fibers for the feltmaking process. The results are wearable hats and decorative pins.

Danielle Monday / DaniB Studios
My name is Danielle Monday and I am a local artist on the South Side of Indianapolis.
I love Photography, Art and just being creative in general. I attended The Art Institute of Indianapolis from 2007-2010 for Graphic Design. My art influences are Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh. I have an AWESOME Husband and 6 kiddos,. 2 dogs and a cat. So to say our house is busy is an understatement. Art is what I enjoy to do when I have time to unwind. This is my second year for the Autumn Art Fair.
Debbie Wolfe / AppleGarth botanical arts
I have merged my study of horticulture with my love of the garden to create artwork with pressed flowers grown in the garden of my Indianapolis home.
All AppleGarth artwork and notecards use actual pressed flowers. I do not sell prints or copies. For this reason, each piece is a one-of-a-kind, hand-made work.
Jessica Helmbold is a local artist and naturalist at Garfield Park Conservatory. She takes clay classes through GPAC and has been taking clay classes since she was in elementary school. Along with her clay work, she also likes to sew, making clothes, purses and stuffed animals among other things. She has also been sewing since she was a young child, where she first sat alongside her mom at the sewing machine observing and then trying a few things on her own. In her spare time, she likes to garden and cook, go hiking with her dog, play with her two cats, explore nature and help others appreciate it; nature is a huge influence in her work.
